Winter Service Updates

December 23, 2024

Read more for important updates on what to do with your yard waste during the off season, Christmas tree disposal opportunities, upcoming Parks & Rec and Library programs, and more!

Yard Waste Disposal
Curbside yard waste collection ended on December 20, but there is a designated site in the Community Center parking lot (2400 Robina) where you can drop your yard waste off.

After the holidays, there will also be a designated site for Christmas tree disposal. Please make sure to remove all decorations and non-organic items from your tree before you dispose of it.

Winter DPW Services + Reminders
Are you going away for the winter? Contact DPW at 248-658-3490 for a water shutoff to help prevent frozen/damaged pipes.

A cardboard recycling dumpster is available at the DPW yard (3238 Bacon) for residents. Please be sure to flatten boxes and only dispose of cardboard in this dumpster!

Convenient curbside pickup will be available for Christmas trees on January 6 and January 20! If you want DPW to take care of your tree for you instead of bringing it to the Community Center, make sure to put it out to the curb by 7 AM on either of these days and remove all decorations and non-organic items. No appointments are needed!

As we start to get more snow this season, please be extra careful on the road, especially around snow plows! Follow these simple tips to help keep you and our crews safe:

  • Turn your headlights on
  • Slow down for the conditions
  • Do not push or plow snow into the public street
  • Please move parked vehicles off the street during snow events
  • Snowplows need "room to groom" - please give road crews ample space to clear the streets
