Hydrant Flushing on October 30

October 27, 2026

DPW will be updating a state-required hydrant flow map around the City on Friday, October 30, from 8 AM to 5 PM. This work will likely cause discolored water in the areas on the attached map throughout the day. It shouldn’t result in water shutoffs, but with water work, that possibility always exists.

We’re doing this to make sure there’s adequate water flow in all hydrants for fire prevention and to test the water pressure throughout the City. It also cleans sediment like iron out of the system, which is what causes the temporarily discolored water. The water will be safe to use if needed, but we recommend storing water ahead of time for drinking, washing dishes, etc.

Thank you for your patience while DPW completes this required work!
