Update from 44th District Court Judges

Judge Andrew Kowalkowski and Judge Derek Meinecke spoke about various programs provided by the 44th District Court to help enrich its communities. These included the Operation Drive license restoration program, drug treatment courts, and various school programs to help elementary and middle schoolers learn more about civics. They also discussed efforts to memorialize Judge Jaime Wittenberg’s legacy. 

Update from 19th District Oakland County Commissioner Charlie Cavell

Commissioner Cavell shared recent updates to the Oakland County Tax Increment Financing (TIF) program and how the changes will impact the City. He also shared general updates on current County discussions.

Marathon Health MiLife Consortium Presentation

City Manager Crystal Vanvleck, Manquen Vance founder Mark Manquen, and Marathon Health representative Brian spoke about an additional healthcare option for City employees. The potential partnership with Marathon Health would improve healthcare affordability and accessibility for City employees.

Ordinance Amendments, Resolution, and Updates to Fee Schedule

Community Development Director Kristen Kapelanski presented one resolution and five ordinances for possible amendments. The resolution for Berkley Entertainment LLC, dba The Berkley Theater, to be included in the Berkley Outdoor Social Scene (BOSS) District has been approved. The ordinance amendment focuses included Noise, Noxious Weeds, and Snow Emergencies. She also discussed some new fee adjustments, which included fees for zoning compliance and site plan renewals.
