Term Expires: November 2029

Gary Elrod was elected to City Council for a four-year term in November 2025. A Berkley High School graduate and 15-year resident, Gary has called the city home across three life chapters—as a student, renter, and now a homeowner with his dog, Bronson. He chose to serve because of Berkley’s close-knit community, walkable neighborhoods, and shared commitment to civic engagement.

Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Michigan State University and is currently the Director of Marketing at PeopleWorX, a workforce management and HR technology company that partners with small and mid-sized businesses nationwide. Over his career, Gary has led initiatives that connect strategy, communication, and technology to improve organizational performance. He has worked with startup technology firms, a global advertising agency, and publicly traded companies valued at more than $1 billion.

He has been active with the following community organizations:

• Chairperson of the Berkley Beautification Advisory Committee

• Secretary of the Berkley Tree Board

• Previous Vice President (Former), Stage Nature Society
