Not sure if your voter registration
is up-to-date?
Here's a helpful video on how to check your voter registration, why it may have changed, and more!
Voter Registration Process
To be eligible to vote in the next election, you must fulfill these requirements:
- a U. S. Citizen
- at least 18 years of age by election day
- a resident of Michigan and Berkley
Additional voter registration information may be obtained on the state website at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/ or download the voter registration form.
You can register to vote by mail, at your City or County Clerk's Office, or any Secretary of State branch office up to 15 days prior to an election.
You can also register in person at the City Clerk's Office within 14 days of an election, up to and including Election Day.
If registering within the final 14 days, you must show proof of residency in addition to proof of identity. (Proof of residency includes a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document containing the applicant's name and current address.)
If you move to a new city, you must re-register to vote. If you move within the same City, the Clerk's Office can handle the change.
All Michigan voters must use the same residential address for voter registration and driver's license. Consequently, if you change your voter registration address your driver’s license address will change. The reverse is true as well.
Please note to register by mail you must complete the application, print, sign, and mail to this address:
