Registration is required unless otherwise noted. You can sign up by clicking on the event title. 

Registration opens 4 weeks before the program date or Monday, June 17, whichever is sooner.
 

Family Storytime
Alternating Tuesdays at 10:30am
June 18, July 2, 16, & 23 
Join us for stories, rhymes, and songs! Activities will focus on ages 2-6, but all ages are welcome. No registration required.

Kids Craft Time
(Mostly) Alternating Tuesdays at 10:30am
June 20 & 27, July 11, 18, & 25,  August 1 & 8
Enjoy an assortment of crafts and other activities. Recommended for ages 3-8. No registration required.

Baby Playtime
Thursdays at 10:30am
June 20 & 27, July 11, 18, & 25, August 1 & 8
Enjoy open-ended play with your infant and social interaction with other families. Our toys are best suited for 6 months-3 years. Siblings welcome. No registration required.

Read to a Dog
5:00-7:00pm
June 11, July 9, July 24, & August 13
Make your reading even more fun by sharing a book with a friendly dog! Bonnie is a certified therapy dog. Sign up for a 15 minute time slot.

Ice Cream Social
Monday, June 17, 6:00pm
Sign up for the reading challenge and enjoy some ice cream! The party is hosted by the Friends of Berkley Public Library. No registration required.

Constellation Jars

Thursday, June 20, 2:00pm

Create a jar that lights up with the constellations of the night sky, while listening to the myths associated with certain constellations. Recommended for ages 5-12.


Furs, Feathers, and Scales
Tuesday, June 25, 2:00pm

Compare and contrast live animals to learn what makes mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians different. Recommended for ages 5-12.

At-Home Movie Kits

Pick up Monday, July 1, through Friday, July 5

Pick up a movie plus popcorn and candy for a home movie adventure! There will also be streaming options.

Blue Heeler Party
Monday, July 8, 6:30pm

Enjoy games and activities inspired by a certain show, including a special guest appearance!

(Blue Heeler character provided by Taylored Events.) Recommended for ages 3-10.

Pirate Party

Friday, July 19, 4:00pm
Go on a measurement hunt, make a pirate ship, and create a treasure map. Recommended for ages 4-7.

Kam Komics

Tuesday, July 23, 2:00pm

Learn about drawing techniques, character development, plot, and more from a comic book artist. Recommended for ages 7-12.

Hula Hoop Dancing

Wednesday, July 31, 6:30pm

Enjoy a hoop dancing performance and learn how to hula hoop dance yourself. Recommended for ages 5-12.

Mad Science Detroit
Tuesday, August 6, 6:30pm

Be amazed by spectacular science experiments performed by a mad scientist. Recommended for ages 3-12.

Escape Room: Exit Protocol
Wednesday, June 24, 5:00, 5:20, 5:40, 6:00, 6:20, & 6:40pm

Your tribe has been placed on a deserted island and must work as a team to solve puzzles and riddles, while searching for the Immunity Mask. But beware, not all things are as they seem on the island. Foes can become friends. Who do you trust? Find the Immunity Mask before time is up.

Pop Tasting

Can you identify which dark pop is Coke and which clear pop is Sprite just by taste? Enjoy pop and snacks with a side of friendly competition.

Vacation Tile Coasters Kit

Where did you go on vacation or where do you wish you could go? Make a coaster using your own photos or using images provided in the kit.
