Dennis Hennen has served on the Berkley City Council since 2017, focusing on protecting vulnerable residents, keeping constituents informed, and ensuring their voices are heard. He is the council's liaison to the Tree Board and Planning Commission and holds a Master Citizen Planner certification from Michigan State University.

He also serves as Vice President of the Michigan Municipal League Board of Trustees, helping communities across Michigan become stronger, safer, and more vibrant. A past president of the League’s Elected Officials Academy, he received its highest honor, the Ambassador Award.

A senior software engineer at Mercury Banking, Hennen holds a B.S. in mathematics and computer science from Lipscomb University and an M.S. in computer science from The Ohio State University. He and his wife, Jennifer, are active in their church, enjoy gardening and DIY projects, and share their Berkley home with two cats, Nicolette and Cosette.

He has been active with the following organizations:
