Clarence Black is a 1994 graduate of Detroit Country Day School . In 1995, he graduated from Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine, the only one-year, post-graduate college preparatory in the nation. In 2000, he completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classical Studies from Hillsdale College , where he was also a four-year starter on the Charger Men’s Basketball Team.
In 2001, Clarence competed for the grand prize of $1M on the CBS game-show Survivor: Africa. After Survivor, he spent seven years on-air at Sports Radio 1130WDFN “The Fan”, hosting his own weekend talk show as well as hosting both a PGA golf show and the Detroit Lions Pre-game show. Clarence continues to serve as in-game television analyst for the Michigan High School Athletic Association Network’s (MHSAA) coverage of girl and boys high school basketball. In 2019, Clarence joined the NRM Streamcast as a show host and contributor. In addition to his broadcasting credits, Clarence is also an actor, voiceover artist, writer, public speaker, entrepreneur and has over 20 years of experience in outside B2B sales and business development.
In 2009, Clarence joined the United States Army Reserve. He has served as a company commander, section chief, and logistics officer. He is a 2019 graduate of the Public Affairs Qualification Course at the Defense Information School, in Fort Meade MD, and is currently the commander of the 220 th Public Affairs Detachment in Southfield, MI.
Clarence has resided in Berkley since 2008. Today he is a small business owner, volunteer, and father to three daughters at Berkley High School. Clarence is married to fellow retired US Army Major Lorrena Black.
