Summer Taxes: Mailed last week of June | Due August 31* Winter Taxes: Mailed Last week of November | Due February 14*

Permit applications, plans, and all supporting documents may be submitted in one of the following ways:

The Building Department will contact you with questions about your submission, items that need to be revised, and required permit fees. Telephone or online payments are not acceptable.

Calculating Tax Late Fees

September 3 3/4% .0375 December 6.0% .0600

October 4 1/2% .0450 January 6 3/4% .0675

November. 4 1/2% .0525 February 7 1/2% . 0750

  • Late fees apply to the entire month

  • Before making your payment, call the Treasurer’s office at 248.658.3310 to verify the amount owed.

  • Beginning each year on March 1, all unpaid taxes must be paid at the Oakland County Treasurer’s office with additional penalties. During the month of March, a revised statement from the City Treasurer must accompany your payment.

A permit is required to construct a deck or porch. An application and two sets of plans must be submitted for review. The plans must clearly indicate how the deck will be constructed.
