Berkley Public Works
The Department of Public Works (DPW) conducts and coordinates a wide variety of street maintenance, sanitation, and water/sewer services. The DPW also operates the city’s water and sewer system for residential and commercial properties. Services include meter installation and reading, maintenance of the city’s water/sewer infrastructure, and residential and commercial billing.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) conducts and coordinates a wide variety of street maintenance, sanitation, and water/sewer services for the City of Berkley including, but not limited to, the following:
- Street maintenance services include sweeping, mowing, forestry, patching, crack sealing, striping, signage, plowing/salting, and other capital improvements for roughly 53 miles of city-owned streets, tree planting, and landscaping at municipal sites.
- Sanitation services include the coordination of residential and commercial refuse collection, recycling, yard waste, curbside leaf pickup, and brush removal.
- Fleet maintenance services include the coordination and performance of repairs and preventive maintenance and procurement of city-owned vehicles and heavy equipment.
